Today in Math Class we started ALGEBRA.
We started the unit of by thinking of ALGEBRA WORDS: ADDING, SUBTRACTING, MULTIPLYING, DIVIDING, & EQUALS.

We also learned the difference between algebraic expressions and algebraic equations.
algebraic expression: --> pattern
n+6
- number plus six
- there are many possible answers.
What is n?
- n is a variable
What is a variable?
- a variable is a letter that represents a number
algebraic equation:
n+6=8
-a number and six equals eight
-there is only one possible answer
Well, i'm done my scribepost. I hope you liked it! I liked it because it was very colorful :) For tomorrow's scribe, I choose MICHELLE! HAHAH :D Have fun Michelle.
Very nicely put. I like the way you organized your thoughts with colour and categories. It was easy to follow and very helpful! Keep up the lovely work!

OCHOA ! :) I wanted to be first comment, but Sara beat me. Anyways, I spotted a mistake? But I'm not sure about it. Im going to tell you anyways, cause I know Harbeck reads my comments. ;) He'll correct me if im wrong. Well, here it is 3n (means: n+n+n). Doesn't 3n mean, 3 x a number? Or am I wrong? :S Well yeah, I think thats the only mistake I found. HARBECK ! correct me if im wrong. :S By the way Tracy, nice use of color, so colorful. Keep up the good work.

Alyanna alas you are incorrect. 3n means n+n+n and it also means 3 x n. Think about substitution. If the number is 2 the 2+2+2 is 6 and 3(2) is also 6. Thanks for commenting though.
