On our previous math test there were questions involving adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. The questions were all algebra questions.

I will show you the anwser's I got and then the correct anwser.

Question 5...-n/3=6..Division question

My anwser... 18/3=3
-n=18
n=18
Correct anwser...
-n/3=6
(3)-n/3=6(3)
-n/1=18/1 n= -18

Question 13..-n=25...Multiplicitive question

My anwser... -n=25
-25=25
-n=25
n=25
Correct anwser...
-n=25
(-1)n/-1= 25/-1
n=-25

Question 15..n-3n=18..subtraction question

My anwser...
n-3n=18
3-3 x6=18
n=3

Correct anwser...
-2n/-2=18/-2
n=-9

Question 16...-9+6=n=2n...additoin question

My anwser...
-9+6=n+2n
-9+6=-3+1=-2+1=-1
n=-1

Correct anwser...
-9+6=n+2n
-3/3=3n/3
-1=n

Haiku: Adding Integers

Adding Integers
I can add two integers
I know how to add

Cinquain :Subtracting Integers

Subtracting
loss, less than
subtracting means to reduce
Minus

Haiku: Multiplying

Multiplying Rocks
five multiplied by five
next comes dividing

Cinquain: Partitive Division

Divide in parts
equal parts, are in
Parts split up equally

Free verse: Quotitave Division

Quotitave division is like partitive
but in the same sense different
you need to understand it
to do your assingment.

According to Ron when you multiply an odd number of negitive integers your product will be negitive, And when you multiply an even number of negitive integers you will get a product that is positive.


Chapter 2: Combining Like Terms

Stewie: How do you combine like terms?
Brian: Well Stewie first you see if there are any variables that are the sme letter you circle them.
Stewie: So if the question is n+3-5n+12 i circle the n and the 5n?
Brian: Yes
Stewie: Then what?
Brian: Well you rewirte the question so the like terms are grouped together.
Stewie writes: n-5n+3+12
Stewie: What's next?
Brian:Then you solve it
Stewie: Okay give me a minute.
Stewie writes: n-5n=5n+3=8n+12=2n. Is 20n the anwser?
Brian: Yes it is!
Stewie: Woo hoo I'm smarter then you!
Brian: I'm not so sure about that.
Brian: If your so smart then anwser this question...2 + 4(3n+8).
Stewie:ummm... I don't think i can anwser that one. Besides i'm only a baby
Brian: Okay I'll help you.

Stewie: Awsome

Brian: Well first you have to group the like terms which are 2+4+8 and add on the number with the variable. So the question will look like this 2+4+8x3n and that give you the anwser of 42n

Stewie: Thanks Brian

Brian: no problem buddy

Stewie: Well see you later

Brian: Bye Bye

Jayden's Integer story

Once upon a time there was a kid named Jack he was not the best at math. Jack woke up the next morning and went to the grocery store when he stumbled over a curb and on the grass beside the curb he discovered an integer question...


(+2)+(+4)



He solved the question using integer chips but he could not solve it by himself so he went next door and got his friend Joe who was also not very bright. So for about 5 minutes they stood there and wondered what the awnser could be. After a little while he figured out that the awnser was (+6). (++)+(++++)

So he continued his journey to the grocery store when all of the sudden he ran into the fire hydrant. Then he saw and integer question flow out of the side... this time he solved the question by just using standard form because the question was so simple it was...


(+1)+(+1)


Since this question was so simple it only took Jack 10 seconds to anwser because he only used standard form to get his anwser. And ofcourse the anwser was (+2)
(+1)+(+1)=(+2)


So he continued his journey to the grocery store when just in front of the store he tripped over a speed bump. On the other side of the speed bump he saw an integer question and the questoin was...


(+5)+(-5)


He solved this one using a number line. I took him about 3 minutes to solve and after he discovered that the anwser was (0).








As he started to walk home and he almost got all the way home without having to anwser anymore questions but just as he was going up the stairs you guessed it he tripped over a stair. On the stair was the integer question which was...

(+10)-(-20)

He solved this final question using add the oppisites.

(+10)-(-20)

(+10)+(+20)=(+30)
